Absence of dark dorsal and ventral margins on the caudal fin and the presence of a small irregular dark spot on the dorsal fin base; presence of bars on the caudal fin; presence of diagonally oriented lines on the snout, and presence of two darker longitudinal stripes on the sides of its body (Ref. 43205).
Occurs in deep reefs, most probably over hard bottom (Ref. 43205). Maximum depth from Ref. 58018.
