Differs from the other species of the genus by possessing the unique color pattern with a black, conspicuous, midlateral stripe with well defined edges, extending from somewhat in front of vertical through dorsal-fin origin to middle of caudal-fin base, whose width is regularly decreasing backwards, and a large diamond-shaped blotch on the end of the caudal peduncle and the base of the caudal fin, extending over most of the depth of the base of the fin (Ref. 55979).
有别于本属的另一个种藉由持有独特的彩色斑纹具有一个黑色的﹐显著的﹐和侧面中央的斑纹具有很清晰边缘, 延伸从略微在垂直的之前经过 , 宽度向后正在经常地减退的尾鳍基底的背鳍起点到中央 , 与在尾梗的末端与被延伸超过鳍的大部分基底的深度的尾鳍基底上的一个大的菱形斑块.(参考文献 55979)
