Short description Claves de identificación | Morfología | Morfometría

Radios blandos anales: 15 - 18. Distinguished from all congeners by having 45-54+2-3 scales in midlateral series; nuptial males with hump behind eye; head length 26-29% SL; anal fin with 15-17½ rays, mode 17½ ; second dorsal fin with 18-19½ rays, mode 18½ (Ref. 75105).

Biología     Glosario (por ej. epibenthic)

Occurs in moderately fast flowing and stagnant portions of medium-sized stream (Ref. 75105); flow of about 10 m3/s.. No data on biology known so far. It is still abundant in a very limited stretch of stream (about 25 km long), but s declining, if water abstraction (large quantities extracted for irrigation) intensifies, the whole stream might dry in summer (Ref. 59043).
