Μαλακές ραχιαίες ακτίνες (συνολικά) : 7; Μαλακές εδρικές ακτίνες: 8. This species is distnguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: lateral line complete, 52-53 scales; pre-dorsal scales 29; pectoral fin notched; with two well-developed pairs of barbels (rostral and maxillary). Colouration: body with 9-11 blue vertcal bars; dorsal-fin hyaline with dark pigment concentrated along lower 2/3rd of its rays (Ref. 126954).
