Etymology: Cobitis: Greek, kobitis, -idos = a kind of sardine; also related with the voice Greek, kobios, Latin gobius = gudgeon (Ref. 45335); emrei: Named for Yunus Emre, pioneer of Turkish poetry in Anatolia; nound in genitive, indeclinable (Ref. 129340).
Eponymy: Yunus Emre (ca: 1238–1320) was a Turkish folk poet, philosopher and sufi mystic who was the pioneer of Turkish poetry in Anatolia. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
