Nemacheilidae (Brook loaches)
Etymology: Claea: Named for the Oreiad nymph of a sacred cave on Mount Kalathion in Messenia; scet: Name 'scet' in reference to the abbreviation of Sichuan Cave Exploration Team, a cave exploration team who collected the type specimens, in recognition of their contributions to the understanding of cave fishes of Sichuan Province.
Eponymy: In Greek mythology, Claea was a nymph of a sacred cave on Mount Kalathion in Messenia in the Peloponnese. Kottelat chose this nymph’s name to replace another ‘nymph’ name – Oreias Sauvage, 1874 – which name was pre-occupied. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
