Dorsale stekels (totaal) : 3; Dorsale zachte stralen (totaal) : 14 - 16; Anale stekels: 1; Anale zachte stralen: 8. Peculiar bony expansions of head ridges and intact squamation distinguish M. eulepis from other congeners. Head with sharp angle in frontal margin (Ref. 37108).

Trawled at depths below 200 m (Ref. 4241).
