পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 10; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 14-16; পায়ূ কাঁটা 3; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 11 - 13.

Inhabits deep lagoons and seaward reefs. Feeds on zooplankton in midwater aggregations. Forms schools with other caesionids. Oviparous, with numerous, small pelagic eggs (Ref. 402). Juveniles used as tuna bait fish.
