Spine dorsali (totale) : 2. Diagnosis: caudal peduncle relatively long, with minimal depth as large as horizontal distance between adipose and caudal fin bases, or in a few cases almost twice as large as the horizontal distance between the adipose and caudal fin base (never twice as large); pectoral spine almost completely smooth on its anterior margin; preorbital head length less than maximum head depth; colouration pattern on flanks faint and not clearly demarcated, often with 1 horizontal row of round spots on flanks; adipose fin mostly very well-developed (height 5-8% SL), dorsal fin high (19-30% SL), head deep (head depth 79-97% head width)(Ref. 81642).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5020   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00525 (0.00221 - 0.01248), b=3.09 (2.87 - 3.31), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.7   ±0.6 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilienza (Ref. 120179):  Alto, tempo minimo di raddoppiamento della popolazione meno di 15 mesi (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (17 of 100).
