পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ) : 0; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ) : 0; পায়ূ কাঁটা : 60 - 75. Diagnosis: adipose fin always present; inner side of pectoral spine without serrations, being entirely smooth (Ref. 43912).

Probably a schooling species confined to rather large river systems; feeds on small crustaceans (Ref. 43912). Oviparous, eggs are unguarded (Ref. 205).
