Coloration: preserved specimens uniformly light brown (Ref. 57403, 79590). In life: head and back bluish-grey, ventral part of body yellowish-white; fins greyish or white (Ref. 57403, 79590).
Occurs inshore (Ref. 4343) in brackish waters (Ref. 57403), i.e., estuaries and occasionally lagoons; sometimes ascends rivers, but rarely moves beyond the intertidal zone (Ref. 57403, 79590). Maximum size: perhaps reaching 500 mm total length (Ref. 57403, 79590).
