পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ) : 16 - 17; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ) : 10 - 12; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 8 - 9. Diagnosis: 10-12 gill rakers on outer ceratobranchial (Ref. 27597, 57549), 4-5 on outer epibranchial (Ref. 27597). No yellow ocelli on anal fin of females and non-breeding males; breeding male with black markings in caudal fin; teeth in outer rows on dentary and premaxilla of mature males small and bicuspid (Ref. 57549).

Forages in the water column, feeding mainly on zooplankton (Ref. 27597).
