Rückenflossenweichstrahlen (insgesamt) : 42; Wirbelzahl: 47. No coronal pore, 7 preoperculo-mandibular pores. Head large (27% SL), and very compressed (40% HL); gill slit large (1.3 eye diameter), opercular flap long, wing-like, reaching behind midpectoral length and level with pupil. Pectoral fin short (45% HL), with two notch rays.
Known only from the holotype collected from midwater (Ref. 42989). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
